Baseball Tripped Up By Bona, 7-2

Visiting St. Bonaventure pulled away with four runs in the final two innings and defeated Richmond, 7-2, Thursday afternoon in an Atlantic 10 baseball game at Pitt Field. Junior Ryan Metzroth's two-run homer in the eighth accounted for the Spiders' only runs. The series continues Friday at 3 p.m.

Shields Taken In 4th Round By Oakland; Hightower By Arizona In 5th

Richmond senior WR Arman Shields was the 125th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft on Sunday, taken by Oakland in the fourth round, while senior RB Tim Hightower was selected in the fifth round by Arizona as the 149th overall pick. The Spiders were one of just 61 D-I schools, one of four FCS schools and the only CAA Football school with multiple selections.
