The University of Richmond men's and women's cross country squads have continued their long-standing tradition of academic excellence by achieving 2016 Division I All-Academic status, as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association of America (USTFCCCA) this week. This marks the 15th consecutive year that both the men's and women's Spider squads have been named to the list.
The men's cross country team continued building momentum following the fall cross country season. A group of four men traveled to Bend, Oregon for the 2017 USATF Senior Men's Cross Country Championships. Under extreme conditions with over three feet of snow on the course, race officials shoveled and cleared an area for the event to be contested.

It was yet another quality outing for both Richmond Cross Country programs on Friday afternoon. The Spider women placed third among 20 teams that ran the 6k race and the men placed eighth among 22 teams that ran the 8k race.
The University of Richmond men's and women's cross country teams will be on the course for the fourth time this fall when they travel to North Carolina for the High Point VertCross Invitational.
For the third time this season the University of Richmond cross-country programs have produced the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week. This time the Spiders sweep the awards with Miles Clikeman and Claire Brown both earning the accolade for their efforts in Sacramento over the weekend.
