Scott Day joined the Richmond staff as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications in December of 2015. He brings extensive experience and a unique perspective to the Spiders, following nine years across town at Virginia Commonwealth University. Day will be the primary athletic public relations contact for Spider football in addition to leading the communications team.
Day managed all aspects of media and public relations during his tenure at VCU. He saw the department’s website traffic grow by over 300 percent and the social media engagement grow more than 700 percent. Day was the primary sport contact for 14 of VCU’s 16 sports during his time with the Rams.
Prior to his time in Richmond, he spent a year as an athletic communication assistant at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J. While with the Hawks, he served as the primary contact for field hockey, men’s and women’s track and field and softball.
Day began his career path during his four years at York College of Pennsylvania, where he served as a student assistant in the sports information office under Scott Guise.
Day graduated from York College with a bachelor’s degree in mass communications and was a standout pitcher for the Spartans.
