A 2011 graduate of Richmond with a bachelor’s degree in rhetoric and communications studies, Powell was a four-year member of the of the women’s basketball team. She appeared in 123 career games with the Spiders and compiled 695 points, 307 assists and 294 rebounds.

Powell returns to Richmond after spending last season on the bench with Holy Cross. Prior to Holy Cross she was at William & Mary, where she was the director of basketball operations from 2013-15. While with the Tribe, Powell was in charge of team travel, and assisted with opponent film exchange and breakdown, and recruiting.

Prior to William & Mary, Powell was the assistant women’s basketball coach at Sacred Heart for the 2012-2013 season. She also worked with the New York Knicks as a basketball operations intern in the summer of 2010.
