University of Richmond women’s lacrosse head coach Allison Kwolek has announced the hire of Anne Harrington as assistant coach.
A former student-athlete at William & Mary, Harrington played four seasons of lacrosse in the midfield for the Tribe before entering the coaching world. Her experience as both a player and coach make her a vital asset for the 2017 Spider squad.
She will focus on the defensive end to compliment the offensive experience of fellow assistant coach Jenna Slowey.
A native of Alexandria, Virginia, Harrington joins the Spiders after spending the last two years serving as the Annual Giving Assistant at the University of Virginia for the Virginia Athletics Foundation.
Harrington began her coaching career in England, where she worked for two years as a high school teacher and head of lacrosse for the English Lacrosse Association in England.
Following her time abroad, she was the First Assistant Coach at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania for two seasons before taking the role of First Assistant Coach at the University of Connecticut for one season.
She graduated from William & Mary in 2007 with a degree in Kinesiology before receiving her master’s degree in Education from UVA in 2014.
