Overall Record

CAA Football Conference Finish
5-3 – Third place

Season Notes
• Richmond earned an at-large berth to the NCAA FCS Playoffs after defeating No. 19/21 William & Mary on the road in the final game of the regular season to keep the Capital Cup

• The Spiders dispatched the Morgan State Bears, 46-24, in the first round of the FCS Playoffs. The 46 points scored for Richmond is the most in any FCS Playoff game in team history, while the 22 first-quarter points were not only the most in the first 15 minutes in school history, but also the most first-half points scored by the team in any postseason game.

• Richmond had 12 student-athletes named to the All-CAA teams. The 12 all-league honorees are the most for the Spiders since 2009 and push Richmond’s All-CAA total to 34 in three seasons under head coach Danny Rocco. The 12 honorees this season were the second-most in the league behind only New Hampshire’s 13.

• In a defensive slugfest, the Richmond Spiders defeated the No. 3/4 Villanova Wildcats, 10-9, at Robins Stadium on November 1. The UR defense was incredibly impressive, holding the powerful Wildcat offense to just nine points and 253 total yards. The nine points were the fewest for Villanova since September 17, 2011.
