Hubbard Named to VaSID All-State Team

NORFOLK, Va. - University of Richmond senior guard Janelle Hubbard continues to collect accolades as her Spider career comes to a close. This time she has been named to the VaSID All-State Second Team for her efforts during her senior season. 

Hubbard rose this season to fifth on the Richmond all-time scoring list (1,717) while averagoing 14.1 points per game which ranked ninth in the Atlantic 10. She elevated that scoring to 15.1 points per game in conference play which ranked eighth. The Glenn Dale, Md. native scored in double-figures 21 times, 12 times in A-10 play and scored 20 points or more on six occasions, four times in A-10 play. She shot 40.2 percent from the floor in A-10 action, leading the time by a wide margin, and 38.0 percent from three-point range in A-10 play, which ranked 10th.

Janelle ended her career with three All-Conference selections on her docket. She was a second team choice both her sophomore and junior seasons and a third team selection as a senior. This also marks the second consecutive season she has appeared on the All-State team.
