Position:

Nicki Williams enters her sixth season as the Director of Basketball Operations for the University of Richmond women's basketball program.

Williams has helped the Spiders reach the postseason WNIT the past four seasons.

"Nicki is someone who doesn't get a great deal of credit, at least publicly, for all that she does, as it is mostly behind the scenes type duties," said Shafer. "Suffice it to say, we could not do what we do without Nicki and her hard work.  She seamlessly gets our team where we need to be, when we need to be there. She handles most of the administrative duties that come with a basketball program and she does it well.  Nicki is someone who works tirelessly and we are fortunate to have her as part of our program."

In 2011-12, the Spiders collected a 23-9 record, the most wins since 2009 and fewest losses since 2004-05. Richmond was awarded a bye in the A-10 Tournament for the third time in the last four years, after finishing in the top-4 and received a WNIT postseason bid for the fourth-straight year.

In 2009-10, Williams helped guide the Spiders to their second consecutive 20-win season and program's fifth bid to the WNIT.

In 2008-09, Williams helped the Spiders to a 24-10 record, runner-up finish Atlantic 10 Tournament and the third round of the WNIT. Williams is responsible for handling the travel arrangements for the Spiders, as well as inventorying and ordering equipment, ordering meals and assisting with summer camp, among many other miscellaneous duties.

Williams left her post as the Administrative Assistant for the Georgia Lady Bulldog Basketball Program in August of 2007, where she also served as head manager for a year prior to her administrative role. While serving as manager during the 2005-06 campaign, the team finished with a 23-9 record, ranked No. 12 in the nation and advanced to the "Sweet 16" round of the NCAA Tournament.

Williams is a native of New Providence, N.J., where she attended New Providence High School. There she earned a combined 11 varsity letters in basketball, volleyball and softball. She was Most Valuable Player for the softball team as a junior and captain of the volleyball squad as a senior.

Williams received her bachelor's degree in Sports Studies with an emphasis in sports business from Georgia in May 2006. She is the daughter of Greg and Linda Williams.

Williams resides in Richmond, Va.
