This will be Petersson's first season as an assistant coach to the men's tennis team. 

Petersson has had a variety of coaching experiences that include working at various camps and founding the Adult Tennis Academy in Bankeryd, Sweden.  Petersson has also served as a volunteer assistant coach for the Men's Tennis team at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., where he also completed his Masters in Business Administration.  He has worked as a volunteer assistant coach for the VCU women's tennis team as well.

Prior to his coaching career, Petersson was an accomplished player. He is a former All-American and was ranked fifth in the NAIA rankings in 2004. Petersson was also undefeated at the conference, regional and national level in dual matches during his junior and senior seasons at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
