The league announced red-shirt freshman Ethan Dunbar as Men's Tennis Co-Rookie Performer of the Week. He shares the honor with George Washington's Francisco Dias.
Dunbar went 3-0 in No. 1 singles last week while also earning a trio of wins in doubles play.
On Wednesday, Dunbar downed George Mason's Jordan Dyke, 7-5, 7-5(3). Dunbar then went on to end Norfolk State's Arsenio Culver's 10 game winning streak with a 7-6, 6-0, 10-6 victory on Friday. Dunbar continued his rally on Saturday by edging James Madison's Greg Vladimirsky, 4-6, 6-0, 6-4.
Dunbar was equally affective in doubles play with partner Paul Nahon III, as the duo defeated George Mason's Taylor Sargent and Chris Borden, 9-7 on Wednesday. Dunbar and Nahon III continued the rally on Friday by tallying a victory against Norfolk State's Christian Romanzini and Kent Austin, 8-2, before completing their weekend sweep with an 8-2 victory over James Madison's Tommi Nissinen and Hugo Ramadier on Saturday.
Dunbar holds a singles record of 10-9 and is 1-1 in conference play. Dunbar and Nahon III boast a doubles record of 9-1.
