SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders men's golf team wrapped up play at the Coca-Cola Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, carding a final round 289 (+1) to end the tournament in a tie for sixth place with a three-round score of 871 (+7). Charleston Southern won the 18-team tournament with a score of 841 (-23).
Senior Brad Miller led the way for the Spiders at the Coca-Cola Invitational this week, placing sixth overall with a 54-hole score of 211 (-5). Miller carded rounds of 73-69-69 to record his 10th career top-20 finish and his fourth of the season.
Junior Nick Austin also had a nice showing at the tournament, tying for 25th with a score of 219 (+3). Also tying for 25th was sophomore Jack Wilkes. Wilkes saved his best round for last at the tournament, carding a final round 71 (-1).
Tying for 51st place overall at the event was sophomore Jack Wilkes, who ended his three rounds with a total of 225 (+9). Rounding out the Spiders' effort at the Coca-Cola Invitational was senior Jack Lessing, who tied for 71st with a score of 228 (+12).
The Richmond Spiders will now have just under three weeks to prepare for the Atlantic 10 Championship in Coral Springs, Florida. The conference championship will be held at the Heron Bay Golf Club on April 27-29.
