UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va-- Richmond dominated William & Mary, 18-8, Wednesday night at Robins Stadium.

The game was delayed an hour due to inclement weather in the area. The Spiders improved to 4-5, while the Tribe fell to 2-7.

Richmond came out firing early, scoring the game's first four goals within seven minutes. The Tribe responded with a couple of scores, but the Spiders distanced themselves with three straight goals to end the half to lead 8-4.

Richmond immediately put the game out of reach in the opening minutes of the last frame, scoring seven unanswered goals to take a commanding 15-4 lead. The Tribe could not recover.

Kara Moschetti led Richmond with four goals, while Sam Stevenson and Emily Doyle added a hat trick. Caitlin Fifield had an impressive five assists, while Stevenson followed with four. Both Fifield (2g, 5a) and Stevenson (3g, 4a) recorded seven points on the night.

Richmond outshot the Tribe, 38-18 and recorded a game-high 25 ground balls, led by Taylor Blazer's team-high five. Victoria Roebuck netted nine saves.

Richmond returns to action, Fri. Mar. 30 at 11 a.m. when it hosts rival Massachusetts in both teams' conference opener. The game has an earlier start time due to the Fred Hardy Invitational that will be taking place later that day.
