UNVIERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Two-sport athlete Becca Wann has been invited to the Under-20 US Soccer National Team Camp in Carson, Calif.

The sophomore forward from Chesterfield, Va. will train at the National Team Camp in preparation for the FIFA U-20 World Cup to be held in Japan from Aug. 19-Sep. 8.

"Because of her unique two sport career, Becca has not taken part in the normal selection process for the National Team," said head coach Peter Albright. "I give US Soccer and Head Coach Steve Swanson credit for looking at non-traditional paths to the National Team, and for giving Becca a chance to show her remarkable talent among the best players in the world. I'm very excited for Becca, and I'm confident that her special qualities will allow her to be very successful in this training environment."

Wann, one of the decorated Spiders in Richmond history, was tabbed an NSCAA First-Team All American last fall. In addition, Wann also received the A-10 Most Outstanding Player of the Year  and led Richmond to its best season since 2002.

Wann is a two-time All Conference first team honoree and was the 2010 Rookie of the Year. Wann led Richmond and was 13th in the nation with 15 goals, 17th in the country in points (36) and fourth in game-winning tallies (7). Wann finished second in a single season in program history in points (36) and goals (15).

Wann will train at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif. May 13-20.
