Hi Spider Fans!

We have our first game tomorrow! After being here for nine days preparing for this World Cup to start, game day is almost here! Yesterday was the first and only time that we could train on the field in the Hiroshima Big Arch Stadium. We only had an hour on the field, so we warmed up on a little square of turf on the side until our time started.

I can't even begin to describe the feeling of stepping on the field for the first time. As soon as we touched the field everyone's faces exploded with smiles. It's incredible to think that it starts tomorrow.

After practice, we had a team-building night and played some minute-to-win-it games and my team won! It was a great night that was ended on a more serious note when our captain, Julie, handed each of us players a stack of letters from people at home encouraging us and giving us some support.

It was incredible to read notes from family and friends who have been my support system throughout my entire life. I am beyond blessed.

Putting all of that aside, there is one thing on our minds and that is Ghana. We kick off tomorrow at 4pm local time (3a.m. in Richmond), and the games will be on ESPNU and ESPN3. I know its early, but I can promise you it will be well worth getting up, we are going to come out with a fire and intensity to start this tournament off right! Let's go!
