UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's soccer team returns to Robins Stadium for their home opener against the Longwood Lancers. The Spiders hope to break their five-game losing streak.

LAST TIME OUT
The Spiders wrapped up their six-match road swing this past Saturday with a 5-0 loss to Navy.  The Spider's struggled offensively during the match with senior midfielder Houston Oldham (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell Academy), freshman midfielder Mitch Reavis (Clarendon Hills,Ill./Hinsdale Central), freshman forward Mannaan Umar (Herndon, Va./Chantilly), and freshman forward Joel Teah (Monrovia, Liberia/ Greensboro Day School) each netting one of the four total shots for the Spiders. In the goal, senior goalie Chris Grover (Memphis, Tenn./ St. George's) secured three saves over a full night in the net.

SCOUTING THE LANCERS
The Longwood Lancers are looking for a win after dropping a 5-1 decision against Big South Conference opponent High Point.  Anthony Ugorji netted the one goal against High Point early in the first half.  The match was the third consecutive loss for the team. Currently Longwood leads the Big South Conference.

Devin Pierce leads the Lancers attack with 14 shots and two goals on the season.Goalkeeper Carl Carpenter has seen the bulk of the action in the Lancer goal this season with 32 save.

Longwood owns a 6-4-2 lead in the all-timer series with the Spiders including a 3-1 victory in 2011.
