UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Becca Wann scored twice as Richmond blanked American, 2-0, Friday night at Robins Stadium.

Richmond won its second-straight and improved to 4-5-0, remaining undefeated at Robins Stadium. American fell to 2-7-2. Wann has accounted for each of the team's goals (four total) in the past two games.

"I am pleased with the outcome tonight," said head coach Peter Albright. "We passed the ball extremely well and we continue to work towards a complete team going into conference play."

Wann struck for the game's first score in the 12th minute when she received a cross pass from Violet Miller on the right side. Wann used her header talent to send the ball past the Eagles keeper.

Four minutes later, Wann sent a ball into the net after receiving a pass from Ashley Williams off a corner kick.

Richmond dominated the shot category, 21-6, besting the Eagles 14-5 in the second frame. Wann led Richmond with eight shots.

Richmond had nine corners to American's three and Andrea Young had two saves in goal.

The Spiders open A-10 play Friday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m. at George Washington.
