LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Houston Oldham scored the game-winner in the 108th minute to lift Richmond, 2-1, over Liberty Tuesday night in Lynchburg.
"What a performance," said head coach Leigh Cowlishaw. "The team continues to demonstrate remarkable resilience. We fought back on the road a goal down, dug deep and found a way to win with seconds remaining on the clock. I am so proud of all our players tonight."
Richmond won its third-straight and improved to 4-5-0 on the season. Liberty fell to 2-5-0.
Oldham, the reigning A-10 Player of the Week, notched the tally with less than two minutes remaining in the second overtime after receiving a feed from Mannaan Umar. Oldham ran down the right side and lasered the shot into the goal after Umar's pass from the far post.
The Flames got on the board first with a score in the game's 15th minute. Kyle Breitmeyer took a pass from the center of the box and sent the ball into the left corner of the goal from a Tyler Bullock pass.
Oldham led Richmond with four shots, two of which were on goal. Abrahamoff added three shots, while Umar had two tries.
Thomas Hand had four saves in goal.
