Menís Golf Begins Play At Waterville Collegiate

WATERVILLE, Ireland - The University of Richmond men's golf team began play at the Waterville Collegiate in Waterville, Ireland on Monday morning, carding a team score of 317 (+29).  The Spiders sit in second place five strokes behind Davidson, who leads the four-team tournament with a score of 312 (+24).

Leading the way for the Spiders in round one was senior Nick Austin, who carded a 77 (+5) to sit in third place.  Classmate Daniel Walker and freshman David Germann sit just one stroke behind Austin in a tie for fourth after shooting rounds of 78 (+6).

Both junior Jack Wilkes and sophomore Colin McDade sit in a tie for 18th place after carding opening round scores of 84 (+12).

Playing as individuals, senior Austin Romeo is tied for seventh with a total of 79 (+7), while sophomore Danny Pizetoski is tied for 10th with an 80 (+8).  Freshman John David Sanderson is in 15th place with a score of 82 (+10).

The Richmond Spiders men's golf team will play the second and final round of the Waterville Collegiate on Tuesday morning.
