WATERVILLE, Ireland - The University of Richmond men's golf team wrapped up play at the Waterville Collegiate in Waterville, Ireland on Tuesday, placing second out of four teams. The Spiders carded a two-round total of 626 (+50), finishing just eight strokes behind Davidson.
Pacing Richmond at the Waterville Collegiate was senior Nick Austin, who notched his eighth career top-10 finish, placing third with a score of 153 (+9). Austin played solid, consistent golf this week, shooting rounds of 77-76.
Classmate Daniel Walker finished just one stroke behind Austin, coming in fourth overall with a total of 154 (+10). The top-10 was the 12th of Walker's career and the second this season for the Earlysville, Va. product. Freshman David Germann also played very well, notching his first career top-10. Germann came in fifth place with a score of 155 (+11).
Playing as an individual, sophomore Danny Pizetoski tied for sixth overall with a total of 156 (+12). Also playing as individuals, freshman John David Sanderson tied for 12th with a score of 161 (+17), while sophomore Austin Romeo tied for 14th after carding a 162 (+18).
The Richmond Spiders men's golf team will return stateside to play in the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on October 21-23.
