Blacksburg, Va.- The Spider women's fall tennis season came an end on Saturday at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center in Blacksburg, Virginia.
Melissa Kandiata lost to Virginia's eighth ranked Maci Epstein. In the first set Kandinata was edged by Epstein 7-6. In the second set Epstein defeated Kandinata 6-2.
In doubles action Kandinata and Salas fell to William and Mary's Cepeda and Nemchinov 8-2 in the Round of 32.
The ITA Atlantic Regional featured twenty-three teams including Atlantic 10 rivals George Washington, St. Josephs, and Temple. The winner from the Atlantic Regional will play in the USTA/ITA National Championships at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y.
The tournament is the team's final tournament of the fall season. The team is set to open their spring season at William and Mary on January 15.
