Charlottesville, Va-The Richmond men's tennis team continued play at the ITA Atlantic Regional Championship with a strong performances from Ethan Dunbar in singles play and Jesse Feder and Paul Nahon in doubles in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Dunbar advanced to the round of 16 after defeating Norfolk State's Igor Braga 6-1, 6-1 in the round of 64. Dunbar narrowly defeated Virginia's No. 14 Mitchell Polnet 7-6 in the first set in the round of 32. Dunbar handily won the second set 6-1, advancing him to the round of 16. Dunbar will be facing Virginia Commonwealth's No. 5 ranked Max Wennakowski in the round of 16.
Sebastien Fauchet beat Villanova's Chris Sietz 6-3, 6-3 in the round of 128. Fauchet fell to William and Mary's No. 2 ranked Jamie Whiteford 6-3, 6-3.
In doubles play Jesse Feder and Paul Nahon advanced to the round of 16 after two strong performances. Feder and Nahon defeated Longwood's Johnson and Fudge 8-3 in the opening round. The duo then went on to take down Delaware's Beneck and Lawton 8-6 in the round of 32. The pair will be tested when they take on Virginia's No. 2 ranked Shane and Uriguen on Sunday.
The ITA Atlantic Regional Championship is a single elimination tournament. The winners of the championship advance to the ITA National Championship.
Nahon, Feder, and Dunbar will be hoping to earn a spot in the ITA National Championship on Sunday at the Snyder Tennis Courts in Charlottesville, Virginia.
