POWELLS POINT, N.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders men's golf team cut four strokes off its first round team total on Tuesday, carding a second round score of 291 (+3) to sit in a tie for fourth place with a 36-hole total of 586 (+10). Georgia Southern leads the 18-team field with a score of 577 (+1) heading into Wednesday's third and final round.
Highlighting Richmond's play on Tuesday was senior Daniel Walker, who carded a second round 71 (-1). Walker and teammate Colin McDade sit in a tie for ninth place with 36-hole totals of 144 (E) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Freshman David Germann continued his strong showing at the tournament on Monday. After two rounds, Germann is in 28th place with a score of 148 (+4). Just two strokes behind Germann, senior Nick Austin is tied for 29th with a total of 150 (+6) thanks in large part to his second round total of 71 (-1).
Rounding out Richmond's effort on Monday was junior Jack Wilkes, who is tied for 55th with a score of 155 (+11).
The Richmond Spiders will continue play at the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on Tuesday when the third and final round begins in the morning.
