AMHERST, Mass. -- The 16th-ranked Spiders fell to host UMass, 5-0, in the 2012 Atlantic 10 Championship in Amherst.

Richmond had its 11-game win streak snapped and moved to 16-5 on the season. No. 18 UMass improved to 14-8.

The Minutewomen jumped out to a 2-0 lead at halftime, by way of Thando Zono's two early scores. UMass would add three more in the second frame.

All Rookie selection Taylor Deitrick and Kimberly Sportack led Richmond with two shots apiece.

First-team selection Anna Zarkoski had three saves in goal.

The 2012 NCAA Tournament teams will be announced Nov. 6 via NCAA.com. The NCAA Championship will take place in Norfolk.
