Spider XC Competes in NCAA Regional

CHARLOTTE, N.C.- The Spider men's and women's cross country team competed in the NCAA Southeast Regional with the Richmond Women finishing 13th in the 6k and the Spider men finishing 21st in the 10k on Friday. The Race Was held at McAlphine Park in Charlotte, N.C.

For the women, stellar junior Jill Prentice led the way for Richmond, finishing 14th individually in a field of 255 runners with a time of 21:01.28. Prentice was the top Atlantic 10 finisher in the field. Teammate Stephanie Paradis finished 28th with a time of 21:47.21. The Spider women's team moved up one place from 14th to 13th from last season's NCAA Southeast Championship.

The Spider men finished 21st overall in the 10k. Chris York earned Richmond's top time at 31:56.86, followed by Ryan Lee with a time of 32:03.40. The team finished 21st overall.
