No. 8 Kansas Tops Spiders In Lawrence

LAWRENCE, Kan. - The University of Richmond Spiders men's basketball team fell on the road to the No. 8-ranked Kansas Jayhawks, 87-59. With the setback, Richmond falls to 9-3 on the season while Kansas improves to 9-2.

Junior Derrick Williams led four Spiders in double-figures with a team-high 14 points and five rebounds, while freshman Alonzo Nelson-Ododa posted a pair of career-bests with 11 points and nine boards.

Junior Cedrick Lindsay had 12 points for Richmond, while Darien Brothers added 11.  The loss for Richmond was just its fourth in its last 11 games against ranked opponents.

The Richmond Spiders will be back in action on this Saturday when the team will face the George Mason Patriots in the Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic.  Tip-off at the Richmond Coliseum is scheduled for 3 p.m.  Tickets for the Governor's Holiday Hoops Classic can be purchased at
