UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Senior Darien Brothers scored his 1,000th career point, but a Richmond comeback fell short in a 70-64 loss to Davidson Saturday night in the Robins Center.
Brothers scored 16 points, making 5-of-9 field goals and 2-of-3 three-pointers to finish the night with 1,004 career points. That puts him 40th on Richmond's all-time career list, having passed Jonathan Baker (1,002).
Richmond trailed by 23 in the first half and 19 at the half, but stormed back in the second-half to tie the game at 61 on a jumper by Trey Davis with 2:21 left.
Davidson's Nik Cochran made a three-pointer at the other end and the Wildcats were able to hold off Richmond (9-5).
Jake Cohen led Davidson with 19 points and De'Mon Brooks had 14. JP Kulhman added 10 and Cochran had nine.
The Spiders return to action Wednesday for their final non-conference game of the season, hosting Air Force at 7 p.m.
