Liberty Head Coach Turner Gill
Opening Statement…
“Congratulations to Richmond. Our players played hard. They played a fairly good football game. We just didn’t make enough plays. Hat off to Richmond. They made more plays than we did. We couldn’t capitalize on the opportunities when they presented themselves. We’ll learn from this and become a better football team.”

Richmond Head Coach Danny Rocco
Opening Statement…
“I’m very relieved to come out of here with a win. It was a hard-fought game. I knew that it would be. They’re a good football team. I’m really happy with my players in terms of the energy they played with, the passion they brought tonight. I think they understood the significance of this football game. I was reminded how precious it is to be a head football coach and the privilege you have to lead young people. I had an opportunity to impact some lives on both of these teams. The Liberty players were extremely cordial and warm. Both teams played hard. Coach Gill is a great coach and he had his team ready to play tonight.”

Sophomore RB Jacobi Green
Success in the running game…
“It was our preparation and willingness to work. We had a bitter taste in our mouths from the last two games. Our coach challenged us to come out and have a good game, which we did.”

Senior WR Ben Edwards
On returning from injury…
“I was more ready than anything. Missing the last game really puts things into perspective. I took it upon myself to be a leader this week in preparations and our practice. I just tried to do my part in the game.”

Senior DB Wayne Pettus
On the significance of the win…
“We knew Coach Rocco didn’t want to lose to his old school. We wanted to come out and play hard. We knew the offense was going to have a good game after their preparation. We just had to make sure the defense was ready to play. We stuck together and played hard.”
