BEALLSVILLE, Va. - The University of Richmond women's golf team finished up play at The Hoya Invitational on Tuesday, carding a final round team score of 323 (+35) to finish the tournament in seventh place with a 54-hole team total of 969 (+105). Old Dominion won the event with a score of 944 (+80).
Headlining the Spiders effort at The Hoya Invitational this week was junior Courtney Rousse, who shot rounds of 79-78-81 to place 11th overall. The top-20 finish was the second consecutive one for the Holly Spring, N.C. native, as she tied for 17th at the Spider Spring Invitational last week.
Continuing her outstanding play, sophomore Lauren Conder tallied her fourth top-20 finish of the season, tying for 13th place with a 54-hole score of 240 (+24).
Both juniors Tracy Martin and Caroline Lovette tied for 36th place with scores of 248 (+32). Martin carded rounds of 84-84-80 while Lovette shot rounds of 82-85-81. Rounding out the Spiders' effort was sophomore Danielle Pinder, who tied for 49th with a total of 256 (+40).
Playing as an individual, sophomore Viviana Perez had a great showing at the tournament, tying for 13th overall with a score of 240 (+24). Also playing as an individual, classmate Krystin Schwarze tied for 49th place with a total of 256 (+40).
The Richmond Spiders women's golf team will have just over two weeks to prepare for the CAA Championship on April 20-22. The conference championship will be held at The Reserve in Southport, North Carolina.
