OLEAN, N.Y. --Richmond cruised past St. Bonaventure, 20-9, for its fifth win in a row Friday in Olean, N.Y.
Richmond dominated from the start, jumping out to a 6-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the half. St. Bonaventure scored its first goal with 10:47 left in the first. Richmond had the game out of reach by the time the first half ended, going into halftime with a 13-4 advantage.
For the second-straight game, the Spiders scored a season-high 20 goals. Richmond has won five in a row as it improves to 9-6, 5-1 overall. The Bonnies fall to 3-9, 0-6. The five-game win streak is Richmond's longest since April of last season.
Caitlin Fifield scored a game-high seven goals. Nine other Spiders scored in the contest. Reigning two-time A-10 Rookie of the Week Emily Doyle dished six assists.
Richmond outshot St. Bonaventure, 39-35, and recorded 10 ground balls. Richmond won the draw by a 20-10 margin. Victoria Roebuck had a game-high 16 saves.
The Spiders return to action Sunday at 1 p.m. at Duquesne.
