UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's soccer team is nearing the end of its second week of preseason training and continues to look ahead to its fall campaign after playing High Point to a scoreless draw in an exhibition match at Robins Stadium on Sunday.

The Spiders complete exhibition play on Saturday when they swing southward for a 6 p.m. match against Campbell in Bouie Creek, N.C. The following weekend, the team then opens the season when they visit Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Tournament, in which they will play in-state power James Madison and the host Hokies. After a month of continued nonconference play in September, the Spiders commence an ever-challenging Atlantic 10 slate that includes matches against Butler, Xavier, crosstown-rival VCU and 2011 National Runner-up Charlotte.

Richmond will welcome seven squads to Robins Stadium over the course of the 2012 season. The Spiders host Longwood under the lights on Sept. 18 before following suit against VMI three days later. The program then welcomes George Washington and Charlotte to open conference play in October and closes out the regular season with a three-match homestand against Dayton, Xavier and VCU.
