VENTURINA, Italy - Every Spider scored as Richmond improved to 2-0 on its European trip with a 111-45 victory over Venturina Rosso Club Monday.
After having a one-of-a-kind pregame meal outside under a bamboo roof at a Tuscany vineyard, the Spiders jumped out early and never looked back in front of a early-arriving crowd that cheered for both teams throughout the game.
Freshman Deion Taylor led the Spiders with 17 points, making 6-of-8 field goals and both three point attempts. Fellow freshmen Terry Allen had 13 points, making 6-fo-11 field goals and grabbing six rebounds.
Junior Cedrick Lindsay scored 12 points, dished out five assists and grabbed five rebounds and senior Greg Robbins also had 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Senior Darien Brothers scored 10 points and grabbed five boards.
Junior Derrick Williams scored 11 points and sophomore Wayne Sparrow scored eight points on 3-of-4 shooting. Redshirt freshman Luke Piotrowski had six points and redshirt freshman Alonzo Nelson-Ododa had five points and Trey Davis had two.
Freshman Luke Moyer had six points, making two three-pointers, Zac Chu had three points and Jonathan Benjamin had two points.
The Spiders play their third and final game on Wednesday night
