Martin Family Stadium- Williamsburg, Va.

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond men's soccer team plays on the road on Saturday when it visits William and Mary for a 7 p.m. matchup at Martin Family Stadium in Williamsburg, Va.  Saturday's showdown will mark the fourth of an eight-match road swing to open the 2012 season.

LAST TIME OUT
Now ranked No. 9 by the NSCAA in its latest Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, Richmond enters the weekend after splitting a pair of matches at last weekend's Hokie Invitational in Blacksburg. The Spiders topped No. 19 James Madison, 1-0, on Friday before falling to Virginia Tech by the same score on Sunday. Sophomore forward Timmy Albright (Richmond, Va./Collegiate School) netted his first goal of the season early in Friday's match against the Dukes, while classmate Thomas Hand (Moorestown, N.J./Moorestown) secured four saves in the victory. The Hokies followed suit on Sunday to give them an early 1-0 lead. The Spiders dominated the second half, outshooting Virginia Tech by an 8-4 margin, but could not find the back of the net in suffering their first setback. Sophomore forward Timmy Albright led the team with a match-high four shots.

SCOUTING THE TRIBE
William and Mary is looking for its first win of the season after Friday's scoreless draw with Butler, in which sophomore goalkeeper Bennett Jones registered seven saves to earn his first career shutout, and then falling to former conference foe VCU, 2-0, on Sunday.

The Tribe welcomes back eight of its 11 starters from last season's squad that ended the year with a 10-9-0 record. Prior to the start of the 2012 season, junior back Will Smith earned First-Team All-CAA honors, while defenders Roshan Patel and Michael Teiman received honorable mention all-conference honors. Smith ranks second in the CAA for goals allowed and sophomore forward Josh West returns to the offense after finishing with seven points and a team-high five assists last season.

Saturday's match will mark the first meeting between the two squads since 2009. The Spiders and Tribe last met on Sept. 23, 2009, in Williamsburg Va., with William & Mary prevailing in a 7-0 win.
