UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Richmond announced the times for its home game times for the 2012-13 women's basketball season.
The Spiders added La Salle Jan. 7 as a non-conference game. Because of the number of teams in the league this season, Richmond does not play La Salle in the A-10 regular season. Therefore, the league is allowing the teams to play each other in non-conference action.
The Spiders open the 2012-13 season hosting Longwood Nov. 9 at 4 p.m. as part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
Three days later, Richmond will host ACC power Miami (Fla.) Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. The Spiders return to the Robins Center Nov. 28 to host North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m. This game is also a doubleheader with the men's team.
In December, Richmond welcomes another ACC opponent in Virginia Tech Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. The Spiders play their final game before the Christmas break against NCAA participant Florida Gulf Coast at 7 p.m. Dec. 19.
Richmond returns to action at home Jan. 4 against Navy at 7 p.m. Richmond hosts La Salle in the last non-conference match-up of the season Jan. 7 at 7 p.m.
The Spiders begin A-10 home stand against Sweet 16 participant St. Bonaventure Jan. 16 at 7 p.m. Richmond will host Saint Louis Jan. 23 at noon as part of School Day.
Richmond plays its first of two TV home games against Xavier Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. at CBS Sports Network. On Super Bowl Sunday, (Feb. 3) Richmond hosts rival Dayton at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.
On Feb. 17 the Spiders will host UMass at 2 p.m. On Feb. 20 Richmond hosts cross-town rival and new A-10 member, VCU at 7 p.m. Richmond welcomes Charlotte Mar. 3 in the final regular season home game at the Robins Center.
