Spiders Hand ODU Worst Constant Center Loss

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Junior Cedrick Lindsay scored a game-high 19 points as Richmond handed Old Dominion its worst loss in the 10-year history of the Constant Center, 80-53 Tuesday night on a game televised nationally on the NBC Sports Network.

Lindsay made 8-of-11 field goals, including 2-of-3 three-pointers to lead three Spiders in double-figures as the Spiders became the first team to win a road game in the series since January of 2001.

Seniors Greg Robbins and Darien Brothers each had 14 points. Robbins made 6-of-9 field goals, including 2-of-4 three-pointers. Brothers made 5-of-7 field goals and also hit 2-of-4 three-pointers.

The Spiders (7-2) shot 57 percent from the field and made 9-of-22 three-pointers, while holding Old Dominion to 31.7 percent shooting.

Sophomore Wayne Sparrow had nine points, making 3-of-5 field goals and junior Derrick Williams had eight points. Sophomore Kendall Anthony had seven points and freshman Terry Allen had five.

The 27-point margin of victory was the worst for Old Dominion in the Ted Constant Center's history and the largest margin of victory in 53 meetings between the two schools. Richmond has now won nine of the last 12 meetings between the two schools.

Richmond, which has won three-straight and four of the last five, returns to action Saturday playing at another former CAA rival, James Madison, at 7 p.m.

NOTES:The Spiders improved to 4-0 against teams from Virginia and 3-0 against the CAA this season...Richmond has held teams to 60 points or less in 6 of 9 games and 104 times in 239 games under Chris Mooney...this was the 3rd time this season, including 2nd in the last 3 games that Richmond shot over 50 percent from the field...the Spiders made 30 or more field goals for the 2nd time this season...this was the 3rd time this season that Richmond has led from start to finish.
