TOWSON, Md. - Exceling both on the field and in the classroom, University of Richmond Spiders senior DB Cooper Taylor was named to the Captial One Academic All-America First-Team on Thursday.  The team, which includes both FCS and FBS players, was selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Earning his degree in Business Administration, Taylor has posted an impressive GPA of 3.63 during his time both at the University of Richmond and Georgia Tech University.

On the field, Taylor was named a Second-Team All-American by Beyond College Sports and a First-Team All-CAA selection in 2012.  Although he played just two seasons for the Spiders, Taylor leaves Richmond having made quite the impression with his outstanding play.  Along with his other accolades, Taylor was named The Touchdown Club of Richmond's Defensive Back of the Year after totaling 78 tackles, 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and four interceptions in 2012.
