UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders football team announced its 12-game, 2013 schedule on Monday - a slate highlighted by six home games at Robins Stadium.

Coming off an 8-3 season that saw the Spiders earn a share of the 2012 CAA Football title, Richmond will open up the 2013 schedule at home for the first time since the 2005 season when the team plays host to in-state rival VMI on August 31.

The Spiders will then hit the road for a pair of games, beginning with a trip to Raleigh to face North Carolina State on September 7.  The meeting will be the first between the two teams since 2004.

After taking on the Wolfpack, Richmond will play at Gardner-Webb on September 14.  Last season, the Spiders defeated the Runnin' Bulldogs, 41-8, at Robins Stadium.

Richmond head coach Danny Rocco will face his former team for the first time when the Liberty Flames come to Robins Stadium on September 21.  Richmond will then open up CAA conference play on September 28 when the team plays host to Maine on Family Weekend.

After a bye week, the Spiders will head back on the road to face James Madison and Rhode Island.  Richmond will face the Dukes on October 12 in Harrisonburg before heading to Kingston, R.I. to face Rhode Island on October 19.

Richmond returns home on October 26 to renew its rivalry with the Towson Tigers.  The two teams did not meet last season after playing each other the previous eight years.

The Spiders will then meet the two newest members of the on consecutive weeks.   On November 2, Richmond will host Albany on Homecoming before heading north to face Stony Brook on the road on November 9.  Richmond has never played Albany, while the meeting with Stony Brook will mark just the second time the two squads have faced each other.

Richmond will conclude the road portion of its schedule on November 16, when the Spiders face Delaware in Newark.  The regular season then comes to a close on November 23, when Richmond will face William & Mary for the 123rd time in "The South's Oldest Rivalry."
