PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Richmond Spiders men's basketball team erased a 10-point second-half deficit, but the Temple Owls were able to hold on for the victory, 71-64, in Philadelphia.

With the setback, Richmond falls to 13-9 overall on the season and to 3-4 in Atlantic 10 conference play, while Temple improves to 14-6 on the year and to 3-3 in league action.

Senior guard Darien Brothers led the Spiders with a game-high 22 points, while sophomore Kendall Anthony added 10 off the bench.  Senior Greg Robbins continued his strong overall play, finishing with six points, four assists and three rebounds.

Trailing by eight at the half, Temple added to its lead early in the second, taking a 40-30 lead over the Spiders at the 19:17 mark.  Richmond responded with an 11-2 run, with all the points coming from Brothers, cutting the Owls' advantage to 42-41 with 16:03 left in the game.

The game went back-and-forth, with lead changing hands six times to go with three ties.  Temple would seal the game at the free-throw line late to hold on for the 71-64 win.

The Spiders will return home to the Robins Center to play host to the Xavier Musketeers on Saturday.  Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
