Women's Tennis Faces Tough Competition From Navy

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The women's tennis team fell to Navy 6-1 on Saturday.  Freshman Emily Gitman scored the Spider's only singles point with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at the No. 3 position.

Melissa Kandinata and Anan Abadias Morales fought hard at the No. 1 and No. 2 position, both taking their matches to three sets.  Emani Decquir defeated Kandinata 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 at the No. 1 position.   

Katya Salas fell to Darien Sears 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 3 position. The two faced each other in fall play at the Wake Forest Invitational where Salas won 7-6, 6-0. 

Kandinata joined up with Salas in doubles play. The duo defeated Noelle Kaufmann and Erin Snook 8-5.

The squad travels to instate rival Old Dominion next Saturday then heads to Maryland on Sunday
