DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Richmond men’s basketball team lost on the road in the College Basketball Invitational quarterfinals at Wright State, 57-51 Monday night.
With the loss, the Spiders end the season with an overall record of 19-15, while Wright State improves to 23-12 on the year and advances to the CBI semifinals.
Senior Greg Robbins led the way for the Spiders on Monday night, scoring a team-high 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor. It was Robbins ninth double-figure scoring game of the season.
Brothers made 2-of-3 three-pointers, giving him 84 treys on the season, whcih is second on the school's single-season list, one behind Rodney Rice (85). He finishes his career fifth on the all-time list for three-pointers with 205 and 22nd on the all-time scoring list with 1,274 career points. The Richmond native finishes his career fifth on the school's all-time list for three-point percentage (.401).
Redshirt freshman Alonzo Nelson-Ododa finished the season with 62 blocks, which is the sixth highest single-season total in school history, ahead of all-time leading shot blocker Darrius Garrett's sophomore (60) and junior (59) season totals.
Robbins, Brothers and Jonathan Benjamin will graduate this spring. The Spiders return eight of their top-10 scorers next season.
