Tennis Competes At Home, Matches To Be on SpiderTV

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The men’s and women’s tennis teams are set to compete at home on Wednesday and Thursday this week.  The men’s team faces instate competitor George Mason on Wednesday  a t 3 p.m. and the women’s team takes on the Pirates of East Carolina on Thursday at 2 p.m.  SpiderTV will be live streaming both matches.

The men are coming off a 4-3 come from behind win over Navy this past weekend.  Ethan Dunbar sealed the victory for the Spiders in the last match of the day. 

The men’s team is now 9-9 on the season and 3-4 in conference play. 

On the women’s side the Spiders are looking to bounce back from a hard fought 4-2 loss at James Madison last Thursday. 

Alex Smyth will look to continue her two-match win streak on Thursday at the No. 6 position, while the freshman trio of Emily Gitman, Anna Abadias, and Katya Salas will work to continue their season success on the court.

The women’s team is currently 5-11 in spring action but undefeated in conference play.
