NEWPORT NEWS, Va.-  Melissa Kandinata and freshman Anna Abadias  were named to All-Conference first and second teams while Elizabeth Sims  was named to All-Conference Academic Team as announced by the conference office on Wednesday.

Kandinata was named to the 12-person All-Conference first team for the second consecutive year after a strong season at the No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles position.  Kandinata boasted a season record of 11-11 in singles wins, picking up seven straight wins at the end of the season.  She was recognized as A-10 Performer of the Week twice over the course of the season.

Freshman Anna Abadias earned All-Conference second team honors after a strong rookie season playing at the No. 3 singles and No. 3 doubles.  Abadias won six of her last 11 matches including key wins over Charlotte, Georgetown, and George Washington.    She partnered with fellow freshman Emily Gitman at the No. 3 doubles position where the duo amassed a team high 10 wins.  

Sims was named to the Academic All-Conference Team for the second year straight.  

She played at the No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles over the course of the season.
