UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Richmond opens fall action at the University of Penn Tournament this weekend.

The Spiders play in the three-day tournament beginning Friday. Richmond then travels to Winston-Salem, N.C. Sept. 27-29 for the Wake Forest Invitational. The Spiders conclude fall action with the Atlantic Regional Championships Oc. 18-21, with the site to be announced at a later date.

Richmond returns the talents of All-Conference honorees Melissa Kandinata, Anna Abadias and Elizabeth Sims. The Spiders posted a 5-1 mark in A-10 play and won a season-high six matches in a row.

Richmond opens dual match play at nationally-prominent Maryland Jan. 26. From there, it will host Villanova in its first local match of the season Jan. 31 at the Country Club of Virginia. The next day, the Spiders host Longwood at Raintree Tennis club. Richmond plays three road contests play before hosting Dayton Mar. 7. The Spiders hit the road for three matches before returning to the Westhampton Courts to host NJIT Mar. 18.

Richmond plays at Georgetown before hosting back-to-back conference matches in George Mason and St. Joseph’s, Mar. 22 and Mar. 29, respectively.

Richmond ends its 2014 home slate with South Alabama, James Madison and Norfolk State. The Spiders will host UMBC for Senior Day Friday, Apr. 18 at 2:30 p.m.
