Richmond Opens Season At ECU Shootout

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- The men’s tennis team opens fall action at the East Carolina Shootout in Greensboro, N.C. this weekend.

Richmond begins play Friday at the ECU Shootout with action continuing until Sunday. From there, the Spiders will travel to the Charlotte Fall Invitational Sept. 27-29, before traveling to the Wake Forest Invitational Oct. 10-13.

Regional action takes place Oct. 17-22 in a site to be announced later. The Spiders conclude fall action at the UNCW Invite in Wilmington, N.C. Nov. 1-3.

All-Conference first team selection Ethan Dunbar returns to lead the Spiders after posting a 15-9 mark at No. 1 singles last season. Dunbar earned A-10 Performer of the Week last season and boasted a 6-4 mark in conference play. Junior Dylan Trent also returns after recording 17 wins at the No. 4/5 singles position.

Richmond welcomes six newcomers to the lineup this year, including Jacob Dunbar, younger brother of Ethan.
