Menís Tennis Completes Action At Charlotte Invitation

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Richmond men’s tennis team completed day one of action at the Charlotte Invitational.

Day One Recap:
In day one of competition, Ethan Dunbar defeated Jack Williams of Charlotte, 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 in Flight One singles, while Alex Hahn downed Jordi Massalle Ferrer of Charlotte, 1-6, 7-6(3), 6-3 in Fight Four singles.

In Flight 8 singles, freshman Noah Fenton defeated Alex Weber of Charlotte, 5-7, 6-2, 6-2. In Flight 2 doubles, Dylan Trent and Jonathan Quenard/defeated Paul Cisti/Francis Pare, 8-6 while Canyon Teague/Alex Hahn downed Jordi Massalle Ferrer/Alex Weber (Charlotte) 8-3.

Day Two Recap:
Richmond continued Day Two at the Charlotte Invitation Saturday. The Spiders had a successful day with a six singles victories and two doubles wins.

In Flight One singles, Ethan Dunbar defeated Benjamin Kaszas of Gardner-Webb, 6-1, 7-5. In Flight Two singles, freshman Jacob Dunbar defeated Ernest Alberch of Gardner-Webb, 6-2, 7-5.

Freshman Alex Hahn secured a victory over Brendan Dempsey (Gardner-Webb) in Flight Four singles, 6-2, 3-6, 7-6(1), while classmate Canyon Teague downed Jonathan Walker (Gardner-Webb) 6-3, 6-1 in Flight Five singles.

In Flight Six singles, Jonathan Quenard defeated Tyler Macy (Gardner-Webb) 6-3, 6-0, while Stathi Kyriakides beat Nick Lofrumento (Gardner-Webb) 6-3, 6-1.

In doubles play, the Dunbar brothers defeated Kaszas/Zverkov, 8-6 while Hahn/Teague beat Macy/Lofrumento, 8-2 in Flight Three doubles.

Day Three Recap
The Spiders concluded Day Three of action at the Charlotte Invitation with three singles wins and one doubles victory.

In Flight 1 singles, Ethan Dunbar defeated Fernando Guillen of Campbell, 6-4, 6-4 while brother Jacob won the Flight 2 singles round over Steven Billington of Campbell.

Alex Hahn secured the other Spider singles victory with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 win over Rik van Gerwen (Campbell) in Flight 4 singles.

The Dunbar brothers notched the Richmond victory in Flight 1 doubles with a default win over Billington/Kaniewski.

Richmond returns to action at the Wake Forest Invitational Oct. 10.
