Spiders Strong in First Meetings
Under head coach Danny Rocco, the Spiders have faced two teams for the first time – Gardner-Webb and Georgia State – with Richmond coming out victorious in both games.  The Spiders will face UAlbany for the first time on Saturday at Robins Stadium.

Richmond Interception Streak at 18 Games
With DB Reggie Barnette’s interception last week vs. No. 6/8 Towson, Richmond has recorded at least one pick in 18-straight games.  Over that stretch, the Spiders have intercepted a total of 38 passes.  Richmond led the FCS in interceptions last season with 24 INTs and this year ranks third in the country with 14 picks.

Stephen Barnette Moving Up the Record Book
With his 11 receptions for 148 yards last week against No. 6/8 Towson, redshirt junior WR Stephen Barnette continues to move up in the Richmond record book.  Barnette ranks sixth in career receiving yards with 2,060 and 10th in career receptions with 135.

Wright Way to Tackle
Redshirt junior LB Eric Wright has been all over the field for the Spiders this season, leading the team in tackles in four of the eight games.  On the year, Wright leads Richmond in tackles (67), sacks (3.0) and tackles for loss (6.5).  In the CAA, Wright ranks ninth overall in total tackles.

Tight Losses
Despite having a record of 2-6 on the season, Richmond has still out-scored its opponents on the year, 189-182.  Five of the six losses have all been by seven points or less and overall, all the setbacks have come by just 6.0 points a game.  Of the five losses to FCS teams, four of those teams are currently ranked or have been nationally ranked this season.

Strauss Throwing For Big Numbers
Redshirt junior QB Michael Strauss has put up huge numbers through seven games for Richmond this season.  Strauss leads the CAA in yards per game (296.5), completions (223) and attempts (349). Nationally, Strauss ranks eighth in total passing yards (2,372) and 10th in passing yards per game.
