Track & Field Has Successful Day At The Patriot Games

FAIRFAX, Va.- Spider track and field closed out the weekend with four top-10 finishes at George Mason's Patriot Games.

The Spiders started the day out strong with the relay team of Kelly Bailey, Emily Graber, Emma Nowak and Maddie Wittich taking second in the 4X800m relay (9:29.39).

Junior Deborah Fajuyigbe followed that performance by taking eighth in the 400m dash with a time of 58.49.

After taking fourth last week in her first competition of the season, junior Taylor Clevinger crossed the finish line fifth (1:19.27) in the 500m dash amongst 27 other runners.

Rounding out the solid day for Richmond was the Distance Medley team composed of Kelly Bailey, Sarah Timko, Maddie Wittich and Allie Stapleton.  The team claimed third-place with a time of 13:06.08.

The Spiders track team will be back in action next weekend when they head up to the Big Apple for the New Balance Collegiate Invitational.
