Menís Tennis Edged By East Carolina, 4-3

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Despite three singles Spider wins, the Richmond men’s tennis team was edged by the East Carolina Pirates, 4-3, Wednesday afternoon in the final home match of the season.

Falling behind 1-0 after doubles competition, the Spiders went on to collect three singles victories but couldn’t over come the deficit as ECU held on for the victory.

Richmond picked up the victories at the No. 1, 2 and 6 positions. Ethan Dunbar made a huge comeback after falling 0-6 in the first set and eventually took a 0-6, 7-5, 7-5, win at the top spot.

Dunbar’s younger brother, Jacob Dunbar, took an easy 6-1, 6-0 win on court two, while Jonathan Quenard rallied for a 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-4 win on court six.

The Spiders will hit the road for conference foe George Washington Saturday, April 5 at 12 p.m.
