Richmond Falls To VCU At Pitt Field

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND – The University of Richmond Spiders baseball team lost to VCU at Pitt Field on Friday afternoon, 19-4.

With the setback, Richmond’s record on the season overall falls to 14-17-1 and its’ Atlantic 10 conference record moves to 5-5. With the win, VCU improves to 24-7 on the year and to 6-1 in league action.

Senior Mike Small drove in a pair of runs for the Spiders, while sophomore Doug Kraeger hit a solo home run.  Freshman Kurtis Brown had a pair of hits in the loss for Richmond.

The Richmond Spiders will continue their three-game, Atlantic 10 series with VCU at Pitt Field on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
