Road To Conference Championship Halted By Top Seed GW

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Richmond men’s tennis team completed its 2014 spring season as it fell to the top-seeded George Washington squad, 4-0, Saturday in the semifinals of the Atlantic 10 Men’s Tennis Championship at the Boar’s Head Sports Club.

“I want to give George Washington credit for playing well,” commented Richmond head coach Ben Johnson. “They brought good energy and played strong to get the big points. Overall, I am very pleased with our season. Everyone improved and I am looking forward to a new season with everyone returning next year.”

Not only was George Washington the top seed, the Colonials are ranked No. 54 in the country.

The Spiders finished the 2014 spring season 11-14 overall and a 3-3 A-10 with a top-125 ranked player, Ethan Dunbar and a freshman that only dropped two matches at the No. 2 spot, Jacob Dunbar.
