Spider Football Volunteers With CARITAS

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – This past Thursday, members of the University of Richmond Spider football team volunteered at Derbyshire Baptist Church as part of the CARITAS program.

CARITAS helps to break the cycles of homelessness and addiction in the Metro Richmond area so that people can lead stable lives. CARITAS the largest provider of homeless services in the area.

On Thursday, 20 members of the Spider football team traveled to Derbyshire Baptist Church to help feed about 40 homeless men.  The student-athletes helped set up dinner, talked with the men, served dinner and helped clean up afterwards.
